A lot has happened in the past month.
Party Time - We turned 3!
We celebrated our 3rd birthday at the CRR on Friday, May 2nd. Families were invited to join us at our central location at 210 Silvercreek Parkway, where they received a treat and could take home two books instead of just one.
It was wonderful to see familiar families and welcome new ones. It's incredible to witness how the children who first came to us as babies and toddlers are now growing into preschoolers and even starting kindergarten.
We can’t wait to see what the next year will bring us. So many amazing things have already happened.
Thank you to all our supporters.
Baby Bookworm’s Sad End
Our Baby Bookworms program concluded at the end of April. Thankfully, it was a huge success. Families came, regardless of the weather, and some attended every week. We are thrilled that, in partnership with the Guelph Youth Music Centre, they found a place to bring their babies and feel included. We know they made a few friendships along the way.
Families have asked if we plan on running it again, and the answer is, YES!!!
We are currently exploring other funding opportunities to bring the program back. We hope to see you all again very soon.
New Book Nook in Town
We opened a new Book Nook at the Brant Ave Neighbourhood Group. Apparently, the families are loving it.
We are so overjoyed to be opening another Book Nook within the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition. They are very close friends of ours, and we appreciate their ongoing generous support. Thank you and enjoy!
Henry’s Annual Birthday Book Drive
Again, Henry held a book drive at his 7th birthday party. Families were asked to bring children’s books to donate to the CRR. You can see here that he got quite a lot of books.
Thank you, Henry. You are such a sweet kid.
National Volunteer Week
Lastly, we showed our appreciation to our volunteers during National Volunteer Week. We invited them all out to Fixed Gear for drinks and pizza!!!
We had a fantastic time and got to listen to some great live music. This has become a tradition, and we can’t wait to do it again next year. We wonder who the new faces might be.
Thank you to our fantastic Board Chair for funding this gathering.
