Summer Reading Programs

Summer Reading Bingo

This was our second time doing the Summer Reading Bingo, but this year, we made it a bit more challenging for some of our older readers. The kids were excited and up for the challenge, and we received so many bingo cards with more than 10 squares completed. Families said they had so much fun doing them and appreciated getting more ideas on how to introduce or continue with reading at home and in their community. When we received a completed bingo card, the child got a treat bag filled with fun activity items and was able to take home one extra book.

Thank you to all the kids and families who participated. We loved seeing how proud your child was when they returned a completed card to us and the big smile on their face when we gave them their treat bag.

Reading Buddies

During the summer, we enjoy running Reading Buddies for older school-age children to help them practice their reading skills with the younger children. The younger children enjoy watching an older child read and interact with them.

This summer, Noah read Polar Bear Polar Bear and also put on a puppet show of The Three Little Pigs. Great job, Noah!
